Get to know

Heather Baumgardner

I branched off on my own after working for a CPA, I saw how much small businesses needed actual communication and clarity from their numbers. Not just end-of-year taxes done.

I believe in a personal-professional experience tailored to your business needs as every business is unique!

From seaside to bayside, I'm here at your service.

My mission is to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with inspiration and actionable data so you can build your own hugely profitable and meaningful business.

You deserve to run your business they way you dreamed of running it.

That is without spending the nights and weekends (that you deserve to spend with your family) trying to organize spreadsheets of data where your financials are concerned.

I definitely didn't get here overnight though.

In fact, quite the opposite...

It took me to almost 40 years of age to figure out how I could help others succeed.... and it was when I discovered a trait about myself. I love organizing and data entry, when you put those two together... you get the art of bookkeeping!

I do have an associate's degree and about to have a bachelor's degree in business management. That came about after I figured out how I wanted to help other small business owners. You put in the work, you deserve to have someone who has your back and truly cares about the success of your business.

I believe together, we can accomplish both of our dreams. Doing business together, dreaming of growing and succeeding together- makes the perfect partnership.

Building a virtual bookkeeping business wasn't the original plan... put the universe gave me a calling. I plan to help as many as I can also grow their business - thru the art of bookkeeping.

I may of been raised in a small-town, but my dreams were big.

I don't believe in following the crowd and how everyone else does things. I saw a need, and I wanted to help fulfill it.

I have trained myself and become certified as a Quickbooks Online ProAdvisor. Most small business today go that route and I wanted to be able to help simplify their life. I started my accounting background back when everything was manually entered in on spreadsheets... eeekkkk!

But like I said, I know every business is unique- if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me.

What's more, I did it differently than most...

Did I do things the hard way? Well, of course I did. I spent nights training and learning everything I could at once. I have met some incredible people along the way. I have a team of mentors who have my back now. Would I do anything differently? The answer is no. Am I still learning? Of course! The platforms are always updating and changing, but I'm dedicated to continue my education so I can help you the best way I can.

There will always be something to learn. Some new experience. Some new situation that comes up. I'm here for it! I happen to love to learn (on top of the organizing and data entry), which is probably why I've spent many years back and forth in college. I can't help it. I need to know why things work the way they do... which is probably why the bookkeeping industry is perfect for me. I get to know how things work, how the numbers work and what they mean. I can put them in a way to help you understand your business they way you need to in order to run it.

So, you see... my passion of helping others and learning new things all fit perfectly in my bookkeeping world. Will you join me? You can continue to do what you do best, I'll handle the rest (the books)!

It doesn't matter if no one else believes in you.

What matters is if YOU believe in you.

BUT... I do believe in you too! Otherwise, we wouldn't be here together.

Our businesses have crossed paths. We are building and growing together. You don't have to be alone in this.

At Baumgardner's Bookkeeping, our families can work together to help build and save time (more importantly save yourself from the headaches and frustrations) by letting me do what I love so you can do more of what you love.

Care to get even more personal?

Here are a few fun facts…

I’m from originally, Long Island, NY. I grew up however, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. My father's grandparents traveled here to the states from Italy! My parents followed my mother's parents here to the Eastern Shore of VA when I was a child.

I'm married and there are four, yes four, children between me and my husband. One just graduated from high school and our youngest will be going into the 5th grade.

One thing on my to-do list would be to learn how to ride a horse. I mean really go down a trail or something horseback! I think they are magnificent creatures.

I actually started this business while still working a "9-5". I love helping people so much, I went the healthcare route. I was actually a certified medical assistant at first, then realized I'm better at the whole computer thing... so I switched over to the business aspect of it all and became a Senior Business Assistant at a community health center.

I love being on the computer and organizing information. I love actually doing spreadsheets, but why if there's an easier way!?

Not to give you whiplash and get all "serious" all of a sudden, but just in case you dig a professional bio too...

I'm Heather Baumgardner and I own Baumgardner's Bookkeeping, LLC, a virtual bookkeeping firm (so I can help more people wherever they may be)!

I have a Associate's degree in Business Management and (about to) have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

I used to work for a CPA, in her own tax company when I realized I wanted something like that too. I just wanted it in a more personal but professional of course, relationship with other business owners. I wanted to be that someone who could be there for them all year-round, not just once at tax time- when it was too late to get your important questions answered!
